Our aim is to support and promote independent film, filmmaking and cinema. We also provide our audiences with access to films that may not otherwise receive a wide theatrical release. In short we show independent films to cultivate social and cultural experiences for our core audiences through film and creative led initiatives.

AHEAD OF THE CURVE traces the power of lesbian visibility and community from the early ‘90s to the present day through the story of Franco’s founding of Curve magazine. Decades later, as her legacy faces extinction and she reassesses her life after a disabling injury, she sets out to understand work being led by queer Women of Color today. The film features Andrea Pino-Silva, Kim Katrin, Denice Frohman, Amber Hikes, Jewlle Gomeez, Melissa Etheridge, and Lea DeLaria, and the score is composed by the legendary Meshell Ndegeocello.
An anthology of ten stories (with an all star and stella cast) that deal with complicated romantic relationships surrounding acceptance, atonement and compassion between couples living in Berlin.

FIRST LOVE was released at select UK cinemas on Valentine’s day, 14 February 2020 and due to be shown at our film club screening prior to postponement of our film screening and event schedule due to COVID-19. The film is currently available to watch now on Sky Cinema.

The UFP FILM CLUB initiative is a not-for-profit volunteer and community led project. We exist to support independent film, independent and community cinema and because of the passion and hard work of all the volunteers involved.
But we need volunteers! No matter the skills, talent or experience whether you commit an hour or two or can devote more of your time, there are many ways to get involved with the UFP film club. For events and/ or behind the scenes, it’s our volunteers who make this happen and an experience for audiences to enjoy.
